Hundreds of Pieces....

Let's me say first of all that I do over-exaggerate...It's just like me to be a Drama Queen...If I say it's 20 ft long chances are it's only 6 inches...If I say it's HUGE it's probably not...and If I say "Hundreds of Pieces"...it's more like 25ish...But, you get what I'm saying...RIGHT???

Well let me take you on my not so adventurous one disaster after another cabinet catastrophe...My master bath is pretty big (no seriously it is big) for the size of our downsized home and the toilet sits back in a cubby and there is a whole lot of useless wall space....

I was thinking an over the toilet cabinet or shelve would look great...So off on my search I went and found one online I really like...It will utilize alot of space in that corner...

Ordered it and 2 days later I have my wall unit...and as excited and impatient as I get it was time to rip that sucker open and get to work...All I have to say is "HOLY HUNDRED PIECES"...now remember I am putting this together all by myself!!!

1) The wood pieces 2) All the nuts and bolts 3) pages and pages of directions (you can see what the unit will look like) I hope...4) Good thing each piece is numbered...WHEW!!!!

Now, to gather all my tools (I love power tools)...

Let the fun begin...I was on a roll...I had the shelf built in no time...All I had left was putting the back on and the front doors..and BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That suck fell straight down and busted in hundreds of pieces...

Needless to say I just stood there with a shocked dumb-founded look on my face...I honestly don't think a spoke a word for about 5 mins...I COULD NOT believe that just happened...I thought holy crap I just busted that sucker up and wasted $$$$...But, I'm still not that mad!!!!

OK!!! Now I'm mad....

And, Noooo that piece would not stayed glued...so I guess on the bright side it is on the side and you can't see it....

Now I'm even madder....I know I need my nails done but that cracked nail hurts like the dickens...(sorry not a good pic but it goes all the way across)

Oh...don't worry this is not the end of this disaster...I got that shelf put back together and dang gang it (my crazy lingo)...I put the top of the unit on upside down....UUUGGGHHHH!!!

Now to top it all off the battery died in the cordless...Are you flippin kidding me???? I'm not going to finish this cabinet by manually screwing the screws...No Darn Way!!!! ( nice piece of corner missing...isn't it??) Grr....

I guess I need to charge that battery and take a much needed break before I lose the rest of my mind...

I put the front drawer together with the screwdriver and than just waited about an hour and I'm back in business....

Well 6 hours later and I'm finally done...Are you ready???

TAAAA DAAAA....

You wouldn't even know that sucker fell and busted in hundreds of pieces...Just don't get too close...LOL!!!

Seriously you can't tell...A couple broken dowels and screws and it still looks good...ppsstttt-hubby might have to screw it to the wall...(not very sturdy)... :(

Doesn't it make the bare cubby look great??? (no more cabinet building for me) EVER....

HAVE YOU HAD A DECORATING DISASTER LIKE THIS???
I hope not!

10 More Days....

After being without my hubby for almost a month...being sick with my ears (which is not better)...staying at a dear friends house...I'm 10 days away from moving into our new home...It still seems so far away...It makes it hard to blog when all you do is lay around and don't have your things (not to mention being sick)...

I didn't want anyone to think I fell off the face of the earth so I needed to blog about something...I actually miss blogging and chatting with other blog friends...(I'm such a bad blogger)...I am working on a project but you will have to wait until it's done :)

So in the meantime I thought I would give you a tour of our new home...(I welcome any thoughts or ideas)...

I really really really wish it had a front porch....(truck is not ours)....and the BIG rock is covering the well pump...never had well water so I'm a bit nervous...

Well let's go inside before I go on and on about what I would change about the outside (are we ever happy???...LOL)... This is a downsize for us from 2400 sq ft to about 1400 sq ft...So come on in!!

This is standing in the entrance looking into the living room...Love the stone fireplace (wish the mantle was bigger)...Maybe I'll paint it...How will my stuff ever fit..I guess it will be really time to purge...

Opposite the living room is the dining room...

Now on to the kitchen...it's the smallest kitchen I have ever had so this will be the real challenge to see how will I can do BIG things with small spaces...

NOT a fan of the white appliances...I have a black fridge (I just bought a little over a yr ago - crying) and microwave but it really won't go too well with the white stove and dishwasher...it will definitely be a challenge figuring out where to put all my kitchen things...(head slap) .. I can do this!!! (or so I keep telling myself)

OK!! Let's move on...off to the master bed and bath...

If anyone has had those awful lights in their bathroom then you know how ugly they really are...but I've changed them before and I can change them again ;-)

It was hard for me to get pictures of the other 2 bedrooms...they look super super little in the photos I did get...I'll try again next week when I get the keys (which will be in 6 days)...

Here's the 2nd bath...(with another ugly light fixture)

The deck on the back of the house is really big (well until I try to fit all my patio furniture on it) and a big backyard with a fire pit....

I hope you enjoyed the tour and I look forward to having lots of before & after pics...Which we ALL love!!! It will also be an "adventure" to watch me purge...and if you know me or been following "My Crazy Beautiful Life" than you will know that DOES NOT come easy for me :-)

I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING ANY DECORATIVE SUGGESTIONS!!!
(OR JUST A THOUGHT OR TWO)

Love Palm Trees

I'm all moved in FINALLY and trying to get organized enough to blog about my "CRAZINESS"...But, in the meantime I've helped a friend knock a tree down and I helped plant palm trees around their pool...

If I haven't mentioned it I LOVE PALM TREES!!!!

Especially when you have all the fun tools to do yard work with...This girl is all about power tools...LOL...

Just add water (pool) and some dirt to dig up (rototiller)...get the hole ready (hole digger-atleast that's what I call it...lol)...add your plant (in this case a palm tree) and landscape around it (bricks)...

This is giving me the fever to get dirty and start digging and planting my yard....Um Yeah!! That may take me awhile my yard is Huge....

With a few tools and some great plants...especially Palm Trees you can give the feel of the south to your home...Oh wait I am in the south...LOL

It took a few items....including yard work in your flip flops....those are NOT my feet...hahaha

And, this is what you get...A mini TROPICAL paradise....Looovveee ittt!!!

Now I just need to talk my hubby into getting a pool to get started...I always WISH Big...;)

WHAT HAVE YOU PLANTED LATELY???

I think I'm going to just get everything settled and than start my home re-do one room at a time...I can't wait to share all my "CRAZINESS" with you ;-)

I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!

Pantry Makeover...

I was bored today so I decided to organize a friends pantry...Good thing I'm her house guest (I can't wait to get in our home)...5 more days..woohoo.... She came home from work and just loved it...I get so excited when I can make someone's day...It was the least I could do since she is allowing me to crash at her house (for a month)...She even told my hubby that he can't have me back (uummm yeah he wasn't having none of that...hehe)

This is what she looked at everyday and it was driving me nuts...

How the heck can she find anything in there???...it was making me absolutely CRAZY that it was so
dis-organized...If I had to look at that everyday I would need therapy...LOL

Let's take a closer look....

I called her up and said I couldn't take it anymore I'm cleaning out that pantry...she was more than happy for me to do it...so I wasted NO time...

Everything OUT!!!!

This is what the pantry looked like when I took everything out of it....~skaking head~ ...

No that does not wash off!!!

This called for a paint job....so off to Lowe's I went...I found a really pretty Beige color paint for only $2.50 how could you not get it (happy dance woop woop)....Now that is a bargain...and it looks great in the pantry along with some shelf liner...Don't you think???

It's amazing how a fresh coat of paint can change a room (or pantry..hehe)....Now the fun was putting everything back...NOT!!! When you try to keep to a budget you have to be thrifty and unfortunately I don't live near any thrifty stores...Our goodwill sucks is small and the majority of the store is clothes...so I really only had Wal*mart and Target to work with...I went and purchased a couple baskets and used what I could find in the kitchen...

Baskets are great for chips, snacks and any item in packages that you can take out of a box to eliminate extra packaging...I put all the bags of chips in a big basket...added a carousel for the extra spices...another basket for oatmeal pkts, hot chocolate pkts, and everyone has ramen noodles in there kitchen...and I also put in a cute rack for here to see all her can food that she keeps in the kitchen (she has a shelf in the garage for extra storage)...

Here's another big basket for all the paper and plastic...a couple containers (she already had) for gravy and dressing packets...smaller baskets for snacks and popcorn...

I re-used this rack that she had spices in for her jello (those are for jello shots) yum yum!! and for dressing...

Here's the BEFORE.....

And....Here's the AFTER....

A coat of paint...shelf liner...a few baskets and you can turn any cluttered pantry into an organized  area that doesn't give you anxiety when you are looking for something (well atleast I won't get anxiety...lol) ...Oh and by the way she had items in there that were best used by Jan '06...

WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU CLEANED OUT YOUR PANTRY OR CABINETS???

Quick Note...

I wanted to tell everyone I am still here...Just hang in there...I'm still under the weather with my ears and we will be moving into our new home on Sunday...woohoo

I'm sure my friends I'm staying with will be so happy for me to leave...nahhh!!! I've been keeping their house cleaned...I think they will miss me ;)

I can't wait to get decorating and share all my CRAZINESS with you...I've been working on a few things but I'm having some difficulty finding a vinyl monogram letter but when I do I will finish my project and you will be the first ones I share it with...

So for now me and Mocha (my grand-dog)...want to say a BIG "Thank-you" for hanging in there and supporting me!!! (It really does mean a-lot)

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR WHAT YOU ARE WORKING ON!!!

Happy Mother's Day...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day today...I spent the evening with my daughter and  "grand-dog" Mocha...

Danyelle gave me the best gift a mother could ask for....She gave me this blanket that has all the kids pictures on it...since I love to cuddle with a blanket she thought it would be prefect...I will always have my kids close to my HEART!!!

Isn't it beautiful....(she knows how to make her mama cry)...

Thanks "Mooch" you always make my days brighter :)

I am still not feeling well and I am still in NC while my hubby is in MD...He's so thoughtful and knows how to make me smile even when I'm feeling my worst...

Hopefully next year I will have all my kids and hubby with me!! (I had to get my own food today...LOL)

DID YOU DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TODAY???

Why I Blog…

When I started blogging in January 2011 it was a way for me to spend some time to myself…I am a wife…mother…and full-time student and I needed to find an outlet that would keep me sane…I have a dear friend, Roberta @ Con*tain*it that has blogged for years and I would read all the fantastic topics she would blog about (yes I’m envious)…I thought to myself what a great way to share my “crazy” life… I am always redecorating my house, organizing and being creative in the spare time I manage to find… I am also an artist and have yet to share my work on my blog yet (I better get going)…I blog about family, crazy times, friends, home décor, organizing, life’s stressors and anything else that gives me joy to talk about…it’s like talking to a therapist but not paying for it and I get such wonderful advice, ideas and encouragement from other blog friends…

Here's a sneak peak of some of my art...

I spend most of my days in my home office and with my desk facing the window it allows me to see the outdoors (love being outdoors)…As I sit, and at times stare out the window all kinds of ideas swirl in my head…This is my favorite place to be (well besides my bedroom)..

I keep several journals that I use for ideas and decorating books…I also follow several great blogs that I read daily…I search online for ideas and inspiration and not to mention the many magazines and books I read…

It all gets so exciting sometimes I just don’t know where to begin…I wish I had time to do it ALL
I want to paint, create, decorate, design, organize…oh heck!! I want to re-do my whole house…If I had more time in a day and $$$$ I would be living in happy land…LOL (wouldn’t we all)…OK!! Back to reality…I guess if I was able to do it all I would run out of things to blog about (is that even possible)..not for me..I like to talk Smile
I keep my camera with me at all times because you never know when a “blog” moment might happen…it makes my hubby laugh when I take the craziest pictures… but hey I never claimed to be sane..hehe…The world is full of inspiration so why not capture and share it!!!

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my “Crazy Beautiful Life”…I am inspired by others and I hope that I’m able to share some of that encouragement back…If you haven’t yet…I would love for you to visit and follow my journey…and remember…

LIVE LIFE…LAUGH HARD…SHOP LOTS & BE CRAZY”…

TELL ME WHY YOU BLOG???
