Kitchen Remodel - Beginning

We are getting ready to turn our small kitchen into a beautiful place to cook all those yummy recipes I find on Pinterest.

Remodel Kitchen

This is the color scheme I am going with, at least for now. I'm forever changing my mind and I blame blogland for that. So, I AM open to ideas.

Here's the remodeling plan, as it is in my head. Ummm, yeah! That could change too. But, this is where I rely on my bloggy friends for some great ideas.

I'm am sharing a couple views of the kitchen so you get a good visual of what we will be doing.

This is the view coming in from the garage, standing in the laundry room. I would like to add pendant lights over the island. I am painting the cabinets and I've been going back and forth between black or a dark brown. I think dark brown is winning. And, I want to do something with those hideous looking counter tops. I think I'm going to try the Granite paint for counter tops by Giani Granite. The decision is to do Chocolate Brown or the Bombay Black.

Now we are standing on the other side of the kitchen look towards the laundry room. As you can see I don't have a lot of cabinet space or counter space so this is going to be challenging. But, I can do it. The kitchen just got a fresh coat of paint and a new floor. On the list is new stainless appliances. The first to replace is going to be the fridge, hubby is already crying over no water dispenser. I'm dreaming of french door fridges, Lowe's here I come.

This view is standing in the corner of the living room.

We are standing in the living room looking in the kitchen. I would love to paint that back wall a "POP" of color. I'm thinking the burgundy or even a deep plum. See there I go changing my mind again. Don't laugh I know you do it too.

I also want to build an archway dividing the kitchen and living room. I have my builder BFF already working on the plans. Now that is exciting stuff. There will be 2 archways, one over the counter and one over the entrance in the kitchen with a pillar between the two. That probably confused you, huh? Don't worry, I will keep you updated.

Another view standing in front of the sliding glass door.

Here's the view when you walk in the front door, standing in the living room. An archway is going to make a huge difference.

Once I pick out the cabinet color and if I'm going to paint or stain. We will begin painting the cabinets this weekend. Exciting stuff so hang tight for an update.

Speaking of exciting stuff. Crazy Beautiful Life is going into retirement. So, welcome to...
 "GLITTER, GLUE and PAINT"

Valentine Tree

I had all these cute ideas for Valentine's Day, darn moving put a damper on my plans. But, I did manage to get a few things done. My Valentine tree is one of them. It's easy to find twigs when you are surrounded by trees. The new house will be more challenging.

This is a simple project and all you will need is a vase, moss, twigs and whatever you choose as ornaments. I choose glitter hearts. You know that glitter gets me every time. It's all about the bling-bling.

I went and collected some twigs out of the yard and cut them to the size I wanted. This will depend how big and how much you want sticking out of your vase.

Sorry about the messy background. This is what happens when you have to craft on your kitchen table. Can you say "YAY" for the new craft room I will have.

After I got the twigs in the vase at the right height. I glued some moss at the top of the vase to fill in the open space and hold the twigs from moving around. It gives it a grassy feel, don't you think?

If you ever played with moss you know how messy this stuff is, and I mean messy!!!

Now just add your ornaments and you have a beautiful Valentine Tree!

It's a quick, simple and easy way to dress up your table for Valentine's Day!!

Featured Pinner Friday

Pinner of the Week

Let's give a big shout out to DeDe from Designed Decor.

Hello all the lovelies from My Crazy Beautiful life blog, I am so excited to be a featured pinner on Denyse’s blog.  I am DeDe Bailey, I live in Canton, Ohio.  I have lived in Ohio all of my life and my dream is to move south (North or South Carolina) once my youngest has graduated from High School.  So that is 2 years 4 months and a few days, but who is counting?   I have been blessed with the opportunity to leave the corporate world and be a stay at home mom. My situation is a little backwards, in that my children are older and not young and impressionable. I have 4 handsome young men. The older 2 are my step sons, Alex 24 and Spencer 22. My sons are Mack 19 and Mitch 16. I was given the opportunity to leave my job and pursue my home based business and to enjoy my boys’ high school years before they are off starting their own lives.  I love to craft, create, re-purpose  bake and organize.  You can see all the inspirations I have on my Pinterest boards

When did you first start blogging?* I  started blogging in April of 2012, so I am approaching my 1 year blog anniversary.

What inspired you to blog?* I first decided to blog to bring traffic to my Etsy shop.  I did a little research on SEO and every site stated a blog can increase your traffic for your online business.  I am NOT a writer and English was my least favorite subject in school, so blogging to me seemed to out of my comfort zone.   I starting to find all these really great blogs and a lot of the blogs stated that is you blog about your passions, you don’t’ have to be a great writer.  I decided I can do this.  So it began.

What do you blog about?* I blog about handmade, decorating and just plain living.  My blog posts are usually on the current house projects that I am working on, re-purposing furniture, making crafts and baking.  Since these are the passions I have, these are the things that I blog about.

What is the best thing about blogging?Wow, where do I begin on this one?  As I stated before, I started to blog to increase traffic to my shop and have fallen in love with the blogging aspect. I love the friends that I am meeting in the blog world and the support that they all give.  I love the opportunities that can be mine with a little hard work.  I love the freedom to create and then to be able to share it with the world. I love how much that I have learned about seo, blogging and how to build my own site.  The resources online are endless.  I love the fact that I can build my blog as big as I would like or just keep it small, the choice is mine.  Blogging has given me an inner joy that shows in all that I do.  Oh course I have to thank my wonderful husband for the opportunity, to stay at home and do what I would have never thought would bring me so much joy!

DeDe has 70 boards and over 750 pins!!!
If you get a chance stop over and give DeDe a great big virtual {{{hug}}}.
This is where you can stalk find her...
CONGRATULATIONS, DEDE!!!

Color Inspiration #8

Flowers are a great way to get some color inspiration. Next time you are in a garden or around a bunch of colorful flowers take a good look at how the colors look together. You might be amazed at what you will find.  If you are looking for some color inspiration then you need to check out design-seeds.

Look at these beautiful floral inspired rooms.

If you like bright colors this ones for you. A bit bright for me but I will take that vase on the table.

I really have a thing for vases and those are too cute. I think these colors would be pretty in a sun room.

If you are into serious floral colors here ya go...

How about this bathtub?? Pretty darn colorful and cute, right?

What is there not to love??? How darn adorable...

This is a really cute idea for a kids playroom.

This room looks like "Mums", that's the first flower I thought of when I saw it.

I absolutely adore this. What a great way to dress up some shadow boxes. I will be figuring a way to do this in my new house. Don't you love it???

If you like flower gardens with lots of color, this is great way to bring all those colors indoors.

This my friends is taking color to an extreme. Holy bright kitchen...you won't need coffee to wake you after walking in there. LOL
